Back at the spaceship, Bailey announced to Larry and Lewis, “Gentlemen, it is the morning.”

“Good morning,” said Lewis.

“Good morning,” said Larry.

“I guess the first thing is to touch base with Hans and explain our problem,” said Lewis.

“Yeah, I think so,” said Larry. “After coffee.”

“Of course,” said Lewis.

Over coffee, Larry said, “You know, I would like to take Hans, if possible.”

“I know,” said Lewis. “But if the Olympians get wind of it, they might make it impossible for us to leave. We sure don’t need a problem like that. Hans will just have to understand.”

“Alright, we might as well head him off. I would hate to have him show up to go and then turn him around. He would be heartbroken,” said Larry.

Bailey announced, “The life form Hans is approaching the spacecraft.”

“Darn,” said Lewis. “Bailey has got an attitude all of a sudden. Life form indeed.

“Bailey, open the outer door,” said Lewis.

“Good morning Gentlemen,” said Hans, while entering the spacecraft.

“Hey,” said Larry.

“Hey,” said Lewis.

“Thought I would sneak a few things aboard in advance,” said Lars. “Photos and old documents from my Grandparents.”

“Hans,” said Lewis. “We have got a problem.”

“What’s that?” said Hans.

“I don’t know if we are going to be able to take off with your 200 pounds and personal items,” said Lewis.

“185 pounds.” said Hans. “And about 15 pounds of personal stuff.”

“I think we have to depend on the Olympians for the takeoff, and how we are going to hide you that well because of the extra weight,” said Larry. “If they get wind of you stowing away, what would they do?”

“I shall do whatever you think best,” said Hans. “I was born here, so I can die here also.”

“Let’s give this some more thought,” said Lewis.

“If we had more thrust, we wouldn’t need such a long runway to take off,” said Larry.

“We need them to help us with a longer runway, because if we try a sneak play we won’t have that option and we will definitely require more thrust.”

“You could use that old rocket that my Grandparents came here in,” said Hans.

“That might work,” said Larry. “But, you don’t think they would probably notice us bringing that very, very old outdated rocket from your place to here and then connecting it to where the rockets for take-off used to be on our craft?”

“We would have to come up with a good reason to do that,” said Lewis. “Maybe because we had an elevated take-off ramp on earth, and without that, we need the extra kick.

“I don’t know?” said Larry. “You think they would buy that, Hans?”

“I think they sell you short, so anything you say they would probably think, oh, whatever they think they need,” said Hans.

“ Let’s go with that, and see what happens,” said Lewis. “So Hans, you go back home, and keep an eye on us daily. Then we’ll give you our go day. In the meantime, notify them in Olympia that we wish to talk to them.”

“Alright,” said Hans. “I appreciate this so much more than you could ever know.
